Open Question: How do i workout in the gym? ?
Sunday, August 24th, 2008I joined a gym recently. Should i work on one part of the body for each time i workout or should i work on the entire body? And how often should i run on the treadmill?

i signed up to Bally’s Total Fitness.
and i would just like to know what exercise can i do do loose weight faster.
I’ve been at Bally’s for about 3 weeks and its been helping i believe i lost over 5 pounds.
but i would like to loose weight faster.
i don’t eat any junk food and i drink only water.
i do eat the 100 calorie packs sometimes, and quaker rice cakes too.
but that as close as i get to junk food.
for now my exercise regime is:
20 minute walk on the treadmill on an average 3.5 speed.
20 outer thigh workouts.
20 inner thigh workouts.
60 crunches per side (180 in all).
and steppers.
but the steppers are really hard for me so i only do about 10 mins.(20 cal.)
I need some ideas about workouts that I can do daily to shed some lbs. I don’t have a treadmill and I just wanted some simple things (like sit-ups) that have helped you. I do have an exercise bike though! Thanks (:
I just started to workout at the gym and I do a lot of treadmills and elliptical cross trainers you know leg workouts but lately my shoes have been a bother to me while im working out. Not even into 5 minutes my feet starts to hurt alot. The back of my feet’s skin starts to peel and bleed. And that prevented me to stop working out until it heels but every single time I go back and do my workout in a short time it starts hurting more and more and im getting really fustrated. People say I might have got shoes that is not my size but I don’t think that is it. Other people tell me there is shoes for running that is comfortable for my feet but I don’t have any idea which ones I should get. Please help me Thank you sooooooo much ^_^
I have been battling anorexia for 2 plus years now. I used to swim 4 hours a day, 7 days a weeks and now I’ve stopped doing that. During that time I was swimming, i was eating about 800 or 900 calories a day. After I stopped swimming, my parents thought I was getting better. I would say I was eating more but I really wasn’t, despite the fact that I was seeing my primary care physician, a nutritionist, and a psychologist. Now it’s serious. I either gain some weight this week or they’re sending me to residential treatment.
This is my new diet plan that the nutrition gave me yesterday:
Breakfast:
1 protein bar
1 bag of lowfat popcorn
100 calories worth of lean turkey breast
Snack:
2 graham crackers and a tablespoon of lowfat peanut butter
Lunch:
2 slices whole wheat bread
lean turkey or chicken
lettuce
tomato
honey mustard
Snack:
1 granola bar, 1 piece of fruit
Dinner:
1 cup pasta
4 oz. grilled chicken
1/2 cup marinara sauce
1 cup cooked vegetables
I’m absolutely terrified to do it. Terrified. I mean, yes, I’m still allowed to exercise but today I’m feeling like maybe I don’t want to and I never allow myself to skip a day of exercise. I either run 45 minutes, or do a 60 minute treadmill workout. What’s going to happen to me when I start eating the things she’s given me. I am terrified to get fat and gain a ton of weight. I don’t exactly know what I weigh because the specialists are handling that for me, but I’m 5′6″ and I know I’m nearing 100 pounds (just slightly over).
HELP PLEASE.
i’m about 145 pounds. i’d like to get down to about 115 by homecoming, so i can get a dress to show off the new me.
i’m thinking about going on south beach, because other people in my family say it works really well, but i need some recipes!! my mom hates to have to make a totally separate meal for me, so she said if i go on a diet, i have to cook for myself. and i’m fine with that, but i need some recipes.
as for exercise, i know you should do cardio and weight training. and my dad just spent a ton of money on an elliptical, treadmill. stair climber thing, bike, and a bowflex. we also have normal hand weights (3lbs and i like 6 lbs). but i dont know where to start!!! what machines should i use? and for how long?
i’d also like to tone up my butt/thighs/abs. what are some good exercises for that?
oh, and are there any workouts that will specifically target areas that homecoming/prom dresses show off?

I work out regularly at the gym but as of yesterday, I started using the dry sauna.
Today I did 40 minuttes on the elliptical/cross trainer and burned 400 calories and after that I did weights, then I headed on over to the sauna and stayed in for 15 minuttes. How much calories would you say I burned in the sauna?
I was reading something else about saunas and it said that you just burn the water weight but as soon as you start drinking water again, it comes right back. Is that true? Is it pointless for me to use the sauna?
the sauna said it was 200 degrees
