I’ve been staying in hotels for the past 10 days on college visits, and so I had been using the fitness centers to do a running workout on the treadmills. I never dreaded it at ALL and I would just go and go until I had burned about 600 calories! I almost looked forward to it.

Now that I’m back home and having to run outside, I HATE it. Yesterday was my first day back home and I had planned to run but ended up doing an exercise video instead because I didn’t want to run so badly. I don’t have time to run this morning because of work but I’m DREADING getting outside and running when I get home this afternoon. I’m thinking maybe I should purchase a treadmill? I found one at Sears for around $400. It’s very basic, but that’s all I need. Something that goes up to around 8 MPH and a 10 degree incline. This would be a wise investment wouldn’t it? Then I also wouldn’t have to worry about running in the dark before school in the mornings.

Until then, any advice for getting over this running hump? I’m worried if I do other things that I won’t burn as much and that I’ll gain weight.

How much is a excercise bike needed in a home work out space. I already have a treadmill a bench a squatrack and a jumprope but im tight on space and want something else for cardio. I just want to know how much a bike is needed and what are other suggestions for cardio equipment? Thanks!

I know walking is very good exercise.I really want to flatten my abs,especially after having my son.Women I know you relate.I know there are other exercises I can do for my abs,but walking would be a much easier exercise for me cause I can take my son along with me.Do you think walking on the treadmill or walking around the block or on a track is more of a workout or are they the same?

Open Question: Is there any technique I can do to avoid calf cramps before I run on the treadmill?

I’m trying a routine of intervals (run@ highspeed for 2 minutes and then go slow for 2)But,after like 1 or 2 times of running my calves will tighten up and I have to stop my workout completely.I know one of the causes is Dehydration (I drink 6-8 bottles of water a day),not enough sleep (I try to get 7-8 hours of sleep) and Vitamin deficiency (I take a GNC vitapak everyday).How do I warm up on the treadmill?
I stretch before I workout aswell so that isn’t the culprit either.

Before I did my workout on the treadmill, it asked me to enter my weight and age. At the end it gave me a calories burned calculation. Is this pretty accurate a measure since I was asked to enter my weight?

okay, i have tried this whole dieting this and i have found it to be really tough. i mean, i don’t mind eating healthy… that doesn’t really bug me… it’s the exercising part of it…. now i think i am more determined than ever, i don’t like the way i feel or look and i need to lose a significant amount of weight…. what is a good treadmill workout and calorie intake for me? i am a 19 year old woman who is 5′8… and i weigh like 265 pounds…. so what can i do? i recently gained the 65 pounds when i kept switching on and off my birth control… :( thanks for any advice :)

I need to get back into shape. I’m 5′4″ and about 146lbs i don’t have time to go to a gym but i have a treadmill, free weights(8lbs), and an exercise ball. I’m having trouble thinking of fast but effective workouts. Any suggestions are good!

Breakfast, one Egg or Oats ( No sugar added or nothing ). Dinner, Grilled Chicken or Grilled Fish. And Fruits and Veggies throughout the day. And Drink TONS of water. 120 situps a day. 1 mile on the Treadmill. and also another workout on the Home Gym. Can you please answer thank you!
