Well I am now 16 and I have been working out for about 3 years and eating right (weight lifting and cardio, stretching, yada, yada) for cardio I get a little bored with the monotony of running and going no where, so I tried step aerobics class at my local gym, well it was great and the pounds came off, at the time my knee didn’t hurt at all. But then I had something happen in the family that was crazy and I didn’t go back to the gym for about 3 months, I just stopped working out.
Well now I’m fine but i started rebuilding my fitness about 3 months ago again and I noticed, when I started to do treadmill running alot to get my cardio health up again and shed a few pounds I gained back I noticed I was getting pain in both of my knees, it would stop hurting and then occasionally out of no where it would hurt again, and now that its getting cold again here, its getting worse, well I don’t want to damage my knees at such a young age since I am always on the move, so I stated wearing knee braces under my knees when I run and stuff, but they cut off my leg circulation and don’t help much anyways, so I ice them and elevate them each 10 minutes after I exercise.
I was told to take glucosomine and condrotin vitamens for my joints, we have some but I don’t take it..does it really work?
do you know what stretches I can do to prevent knee injuries?
what is your take on warming up before a workout..does it really help knees?
what cardio can I do that won’t hurt/put as much pressure on my knees?
how can I prevent any further knee injury?
thank you so much, any helpful answer would be a big blessing :]
i do swim alot, we have a heated pool, but unfortunetly in michigan a heated pool isn’t enough, cause this year our crazy weather patterns up here would have it so late fall feels like it has already arrived,
I guess I could swim at my ymca’s pool though
thank you all so much. BIG help!
