Thursday, August 14th, 2008

I am 14 and weigh 180
I have checked yahoo answers for details about weight loss
here is the problem
some people say i should eat little calories a day
and then there is some that say i should eat about 2000 calories or else my body will hold on it the fat

I am around 5 foot 2 inches.

as for exercise i treadmill 4-5 MpH for 30 min,
martial arts workout for 2 hours 3 times a week.
if i limit myself to under 1,200 calories a day, would that help?

Open Question: Help with an exercise plan? 10 Points!?

Thursday, August 14th, 2008

Four days of the week I do the following :
5 minutes warm up walking to the gym
40-45 minutes of elliptical/ cross trainer maintaining my target heart rate
About 100-200 crunches
Sometimes triceps workouts
5 minutes of cool down walking home

I am afraid of weight training because I do not want to gain muscle.
I also eat healthy and drink a TON of water.
I feel that I am not getting the most effective work out.
Tips or suggestions would be wonderful !!
Thanks

Resolved Question: how long will it take my body to be back in shape?

Thursday, August 14th, 2008

I returned to the gym after not working out for 6 months or so. I was SOOOO out of shape. My side was hurting on the cross trainer/elliptical thing and I was out of breath! I wanted to do at least 30 minuttes but I was hurting so I stopped at 20. How long should it take my body to get used to working out and not get so winded and side pains? im 131 in weight and 5′2

Resolved Question: Should I buy a treadmill an elliptical cross trainer?

Thursday, August 14th, 2008

I’m about to start my personal workout plan for a whole year.

I’ve divided it into Cardio and Body Building.
By Cardio I aim for burning fats and being able to run for a long time…

I’m currently confused on whether to buy a treadmill, or an “elliptical cross trainer”?

Resolved Question: Is this a good workout?

Thursday, August 14th, 2008

Monday – 45 minutes cardio; 15 minutes abs; 20 minutes arms

Tuesday – 45 minutes cardio; 15 minutes abs; 20 minutes legs

Wednesday – 45 minutes cardio; 15 minutes cardio; 15 minutes squats

Thursday – 45 minutes cardio; 15 minutes abs; 20 minutes arms

Friday – 45 minutes cardio; 15 minutes abs; 20 minutes legs

Saturday – 1 hour cardio

Sunday – rest

I weigh 107 and I’m 5’2. Is this okay? I try to alternate between the stair climb, cross trainer, and running during my sessions as my body is now used to the elliptical.

Resolved Question: Do I sweat less but burn more calories?

Thursday, August 14th, 2008

I do high intensity interval training and regular cardio on different days. When I do regular cardio I take it easy and barely sweat. Does that mean that I am not doing much? I do the intervals on the treadmill because it’s hardest and normal cardio on cross trainer or elliptical which I don’t think is nearly as tiring as treadmill. However, I burned 300+ calories in 30 minutes on the cross trainer and I barely sweat. I know the calorie counters are just an approximation. On the other hand, I burn less on the treadmill but I sweat more. Does sweat mean anything beside loss of water and do I really burn approximately that many calories even if I barely sweat?
Thanks! Will chose a best answer. =]

Resolved Question: Does your body get used to the cardio machines?

Thursday, August 14th, 2008

My body has gotten used to the elliptical at its highest setting and to almost the top setting of the cross trainer. So I’ve started running and doing stair climbing. Do you really have to work harder just to maintain your weight just because you’re getting in shape? How often do you change cardio equipment?
