Resolved Question: Is this a good workout?

Saturday, August 2nd, 2008

Monday – 45 minutes cardio; 15 minutes abs; 20 minutes arms

Tuesday – 45 minutes cardio; 15 minutes abs; 20 minutes legs

Wednesday – 45 minutes cardio; 15 minutes cardio; 15 minutes squats

Thursday – 45 minutes cardio; 15 minutes abs; 20 minutes arms

Friday – 45 minutes cardio; 15 minutes abs; 20 minutes legs

Saturday – 1 hour cardio

Sunday – rest

I weigh 107 and I’m 5’2. Is this okay? I try to alternate between the stair climb, cross trainer, and running during my sessions as my body is now used to the elliptical.

Voting Question: Do I sweat less but burn more calories?

Saturday, August 2nd, 2008

I do high intensity interval training and regular cardio on different days. When I do regular cardio I take it easy and barely sweat. Does that mean that I am not doing much? I do the intervals on the treadmill because it’s hardest and normal cardio on cross trainer or elliptical which I don’t think is nearly as tiring as treadmill. However, I burned 300+ calories in 30 minutes on the cross trainer and I barely sweat. I know the calorie counters are just an approximation. On the other hand, I burn less on the treadmill but I sweat more. Does sweat mean anything beside loss of water and do I really burn approximately that many calories even if I barely sweat?
Thanks! Will chose a best answer. =]

Voting Question: Does your body get used to the cardio machines?

Saturday, August 2nd, 2008

My body has gotten used to the elliptical at its highest setting and to almost the top setting of the cross trainer. So I’ve started running and doing stair climbing. Do you really have to work harder just to maintain your weight just because you’re getting in shape? How often do you change cardio equipment?

Voting Question: I’m trying to lose weight…?

Saturday, August 2nd, 2008

Hey, right now I am biking (stationary) 2/3 days a week for 25/30 minutes and I am doing 25-30 minutes on a cross trainer elliptical machine 2/3 days a week (alternate days), so should i start running and biking on alternate days or should I do another combo? Just tell me which two of these (cross trainer, treadmill, and bike) are best for losing weight.

Resolved Question: Are there any advantages or disadvantages to using the cross trainer (elliptical) rather than the Treadmill?

Voting Question: I need help from a personal trainer or body builder…?

Saturday, August 2nd, 2008

I have been working out consistently for the past 6 months and I have had great results. Overall I didn’t lose that much weight, but I slimmed down a bit and have definately increased my muscle definition. My main problem is of course my mid section area. I need some help - and I think it may be my diet. Here is my workout routine as well as usual diet.

I do cardio 4-5x a week for 30 minutes. I try to switch things up. I run 1-2x a week, do the cross trainer 2 times a week, and the elliptical 2 times a week all on full intensity.

As far as my diet, I usually eat pretty much the same things everyday.

(8:00 am)Breakfast: 3 egg whites scrambled with 3 pieces of bacon on a whole wheat wrap
(10:00am) Banana (Right before my workout)
(1:00pm) Whey Protein w/ Skim Milk
(3:00pm) Chicken Salad with Tomatoes, Olives, a few croutons, and balsamic vinegar
(5:00 pm) 1 cup fruit (either pineapple, blackberries, or srawberries)
(8:00 pm) 1 slimfast

I am 22 years old/female
I forgot to add, I work mainly nights during the week and have to workout early in the morning.

In addition to the cardio in my workout, I also lift 2x a week. Here’s my overall workout schedule:

Sunday - I lift triceps, chest, and shoulders and run.
Monday - elliptical
Tuesday - cross trainer
Wednesday - I lift back, biceps and run.
Thursday - elliptical
Friday - off
Saturday - crosstrainer

I keep a food journal and have added up my total calorie intake for a day which usually ranges from 1200-1400. I don’t have a whole lot of time to cook my meals and sometimes try to mix things up, but don’t know what else I can eat.

I sometimes have tuna in water, carrots/cauliflower with lite ranch dressing - but that’s about it.

My entire body is toned and super cut. My arms are incredible, my legs from running are hot as hell. Even my back is defined very nicely - I just need help with my diet and also good ab exercises. Thanks soooo much in advance.
