Open Question: Trying to lose weight…Do you think this is a good start??

Thursday, July 31st, 2008

I am 5′3″ and around 200lbs. I know I need to make a serious change in my life . I have a treadmill at home and just starting this week I have gotten back on it and am doing 30 mins, 1.5 miles a day. Right now being so out of shape this is about all I can do. I dont want to push myself too much for the fear that Ill get frustrated and quit but know that I will have to up the workout and add more to it. I am an emotional eater who tends to binge and being a stay at home mom I have plenty of time for that but am trying very hard to watch my proportions and eat less junk and such. With what I have said do you think I am off to a decent start, enough to see even a little difference in a few weeks??? As I am building my endurance what are things here I home that I can do to further my success? And how can I keep myself moving forward and not give up. Also I like to have a few drinks on the weekend, with this ruin the work I have done through the week???

Open Question: The stupefying tedium and pain of strenuous everyday workouts are intolerable. But how do you get around it?

Thursday, July 31st, 2008

Comfortable moderate exercise will never work unless you eat nothing but rabbit food and even that in small portions. Unless you’re genetically predisposed to be thin which is at best only 10 percent of the population you have to kill yourself to get down to within even 15 pounds of you ideal weight and maintain it. It’s especially hard on the knees because you can’t get around having to run on a treadmill at speeds between 5.2-7.2 for at least an hour. No expression was ever truer than “No pain, no gain”. And the pain isn’t just moderate. It knocks the hell out of you. Moderate workouts unless you have the thin gene will do absolutely nothing and you’ll turn into the same blimp as if you didn’t exercise at all. Oh, how we pay the price for an unbearably random universe every second. Comments?

Open Question: which is more effective? walking 20min or playing ddr on workout mode for as long as i want…?

Thursday, July 31st, 2008

it can be 30 min to an hour even more! ddr is dance dance revolution 2. it has workout mode where it tells you how many calories you burn and how far youve gone. it says ive gone 5 miles just by playing all the songs once… do you think this is true?
if i go on a treadmill for 20min i only go one mile as it says and burn 100 calories if even that.
